Why
is it that the life and practice of the twenty-four churches I
have been involved with over seventy years has been so different
from the life of Jesus and his followers in the gospels?
Why
do our churches fail to act on what Jesus said and do something
different instead?
Why
have we been building furiously on sand for so long?
It's
time for us to wake out of sleep, as Paul wrote to the Roman
believers two thousand years ago, otherwise the Lord will return
like a thief in the night and catch us all napping.
In
writing this book, I have limited myself to what I have
experienced personally in church life. I also point out ways of
taking things forward from where we are now. It's time to step
out.
